I acknowledge that the mainstream in fashion is still in the western style. As Sandra says in her article "Afterward: Re-orienting Fashion Theory", "Fashion: Global but Western." But recently, Orientalism style of fashion is engaged in global fashion and has a great impact on the fashion trend. But dated back to history, there was a stereotype of the definition of fashion. Therefore, anti-fashion has grown up so that the definition of fashion is being redefined. The most interesting part of this article is the The Fashionalization of Asian Dress section. "Design production is the result of international collaboration and influences." The boundary lines between western style and Orientalism style is blurring out. The diversity of Asian dress tells us that the anti-western process throughout Asian countries.
I'm really impressed with the anti-fashion process. It seems like people always follow a certain form of beauty like the oval face, thin leg, big eyes and so on. Therefore, a lot of girls who are in the average of this standard lose their confidence. But in my mind, I believe there is no standard in the fashion world. Everyone could have their own fashion style although it's considered as anti-fashion. I want to make everybody feel good about themselves. We could figure out own persona with a specific style. We don't need to obey the fashion standard, and I want to be an anti-fashional people. For example, the Chinese model Gao, who has special Orientalism beauty, was considered a wired model inside China where is under the western fashion rules. But the Vogue appreciates her anti-fashion effort and believes the future of fashion would be diverse and without standard.
