Japanese street fashion
In the article "Japanese Teen As Producers of Street Fashion" by Yuniya Kawamura, the author states that the Japanese street fashion does not come from the famous Japanese fashion designers but the high school girls from Japan. I very much agree with the author's point of view because young people in Japan have always led Japanese street fashion. Clothing has become a personal symbol in Japanese culture. Young people show their style, even personality, to others through their costumes. Japanese young people's pursuit of fashion and interpretation have attracted the attention of young people in other countries. Many Chinese young people are crazy about Japanese cosplay culture. People can become their favorite cartoon characters through different costumes and makeup. In last year's Los Angeles Animation Festival I saw a lot of people cosplay their favorite anime characters walking down the street. These young people come from different countries and different races to wear clothes that represent their anime characters. I am shocked by the fact that the scale of the festival is so vast and there are so many people involved.
