Style Point of View
Grace Petersen
Asking what my style point of view has led me to really take a good long look at my wardrobe as well as that one section of my closet i rarely enter. As an A-typical girl from the affluent suburbs of Los Angeles, growing up I didn't mesh very with my peers idea of fashion as informed by brand names and celebrity trends. To this day, I still find it difficult to follow major fashion trends unless it is from high fashion's more abstract and avant garde looks. I have always been more interested in the impractical and theatrical with fashion, but as I grew up I came up with a compromise to daily clothes and looking like an ancient goddess of spring (as I wished to do).
This is one of my everyday looks, albeit in a rather whimsical location of lavender fields. I am wearing a simple dress and sheer cardigan, ankle boots and a sunhat all entirely covered in floral motifs. From the lace on my boots and dress the the flowers woven into the straw brim of my hat, This look embodies my personal style: Functionally Floral. I have a great love for classic imagery of the feminine and floral elements embody this perfectly. I wear this on everyday casual clothing, mixing various patterns and color while pulling it together just like a garden bouquet.
