Week 3

"The fast fashion industry -- in common with the technology industry, which similarly produces a constant stream of ever-improved, ever more-alluring products, courtesy of such impulsive behavior, employing the planned obsolescence practices..." (Annama).
The article and the unit this week primarily focuses on the consumption of fast fashion and its ethics. However, a few questions arise in regards to fast fashion. Despite the injustices brought upon those who make these fast fashion brands, how does one take into the account the accessibility of trendy fashion trends toward those who cannot afford ethically-found fashion brands?
Furthermore, there has been recent backlash against brands like Fashion Nova which is a fast fashion brand that takes designs from the runways and high-profile celebrities such as Kim Kardashian. Yet, this argument of ethics of fast fashion bring upon many facets of justice. Justice toward original designers? Justice toward makers of clothing? Justice toward the people consuming?
