Week 1- Uyen Ngo (Style Point of View)

Week 1
Style Point of View
Mix and Match/Comfy Cute
Uyen Ngo

My personal style is best described as a medium between comfy cute and mix and match. The "Mix and Match" part comes from the fact that my wardrobe consists of a lot of basic pieces. That means pieces that are neutral in color and usually lack any patterns or designs. I use these pieces to build the base of my outfit and are able to use these pieces for multiple outfits. I then am able to express myself by building on these basic/neutral pieces with statement pieces such as fun pants or a cool head piece. I find that it is quite representative of my personality as I am often time actually quiet at first and tend to try to blend in. It takes a little bit of time for me to adjust to new situations but once I feel ready I am always the most eager to push my boundaries and do not hide in the background at all, just as my statement pieces do.

The second part, "Comfy Cute" comes from the fact that while I mix and match me wardrobe pieces, I also make sure these pieces are comfortable, especially the statement pieces. I find that when I am comfortable I am able to be the best version of myself. I am able to produce my best work when I am comfortable in my own skin and body and fashion/clothes is a big part of that. So finding pieces that make me feel at home and myself is important to me as it does have an impact on my goals and everyday tasks.

My fashion icon is Jamie Chung as she always has outfits that are chic and classic but also look comfy and effortless. Her outfits are usually not super daring and tend to stay but she always has some kind of statement piece (such as shoes) that turns her outfits into something amazing and fun to look at.
