Week 1 Style Point of View

Week 1
Style Point of View
Annika R. Uyenco

Like many people, my outfit for the day depends on my mood. If I want the day to be a lazy one, I will wear either sweats or athleisure wear and I am not ashamed of it. However, on the days I do decide to dress up, I like to keep it simple: no flashy colors or wild patterns. I like clothing that is print-free unless the print is subtle or soft to the eyes. During the cold seasons, I prefer to dress in darker colors, especially burgundy, dark blue, and forest green. When it's warmer outside, I wear lots of pastel-colored clothing with frill, floral, or decorative lace designs. My wardrobe consists heavily of vintage inspiration and is quite feminine.

I've also fallen in love with boho style and will experiment with it occasionally. Sometimes the patterns and forms make it hard to mix and match with other items in my closet but when I put together an outfit I really love, I feel very confident and have a greater awareness of having fun in what I'm wearing. I also like to accessorize with simple jewelry such as necklaces or anklets.

I don't have any fashion icons I look up to for inspiration because I am quite comfortable with my personal style. I look off of Pinterest every once in a while when I feel bored with my current outfit options. Although I don't have any fashion icons, there is one influencer on Instagram I follow whose style is the more advanced version of mine. I say advanced because her style consists of the same colors, cut, and form but consists of more patterns, embellishments, and designs.
